History

Whitesboro Cemetery is a principal burial ground for the town of Whitesboro in western Grayson County. The town traces its beginnings to 1848, when Ambrose B. White and his family settled at a spot then called Wolfpath, and White's Westview Inn later served as a stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail route from 1858 to 1861. The community incorporated as Whitesborough in 1873 and its cemetery holds the graves of many of the area's pioneer families.
