History

Red Top Cemetery lies about three miles east of Shiro on the south side of SH 30 in eastern Grimes County, near the Walker County line. It became a perpetual-care cemetery through the bequest of Miss Jessie Harman (1883-1970) and holds roughly 250 marked burials. The Texas Historical Commission recognizes it as a historic cemetery.
