History
The Texas Agricultural Education and Heritage Center, popularly known as the 'Big Red Barn,' sits on a working Guadalupe County farm that has been cultivated since the 1850s on land donated by fifth-generation farmers Wilfred and Betty Bartoskewitz. Chartered as a nonprofit in 2003, the center works to educate the public, especially young people, about the importance of agriculture and the heritage of Texas farming and ranching. Its grounds feature antique farm equipment and historic buildings, and it is home to the 'World's Largest Pecan' and a pecan museum.
