History
The Pioneer Flight Museum at the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome is a nonprofit living-history museum dedicated to preserving, restoring, and reproducing aircraft and ground vehicles from the dawn of flight through the early years of World War II. Founded by former airline pilot Roger Freeman, who grew up around vintage aircraft and worked on the film 'The Great Waldo Pepper,' the museum moved to its 75-acre Kingsbury site in 1997. It keeps many of its restored and replica World War I-era planes and early automobiles in working order, flying them during the twice-yearly Wings and Wheels event.
