History
Elijah Valentine Dale (1807-1890), a native of Georgia, was a veteran of the Texas Revolution. He reached Texas in February 1836 and enrolled in Captain C. W. Vickery's company at Matagorda, later transferring to Captain William Wood's company and serving at the Battle of San Jacinto. He settled in the Seguin area of Guadalupe County, where the state placed his marker in 1936.
