History

Chillicothe Cemetery is the community burial ground for Chillicothe, a Hardeman County town founded in the early 1880s that grew quickly after the Fort Worth and Denver City Railway arrived in 1887. Its recorded graves reach back into the nineteenth century and number in the thousands, reflecting generations of the farming and ranching families of the eastern part of the county.
