History
The Yale Street Bridge carries Yale Street over White Oak Bayou at the southern edge of the Houston Heights. It belongs to a group of decorative reinforced-concrete bridges built across the Houston bayous in the early twentieth century, only a few of which survive, and is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. The aging span was closed and reconstructed in the 2010s, with brick salvaged from the historic structure incorporated into the adjacent bayou trail.
