History

The Houston Police Museum occupies the lobby of the police department's downtown headquarters at 1200 Travis Street and is free to visit. Its displays trace the department's history through badges, uniforms, and equipment used over the decades, alongside artifacts from the Honor Guard, SWAT, and Mounted Patrol units. Notable pieces include a 1952 patrol car, a jeweled gold badge worn by Houston's 1910 police chief, and a memorial wall honoring officers killed in the line of duty.
