History
Seal McDougle Cemetery in Spring served the once-large African American community that lived along Treaschwig Road in Harris County. According to local history, Seal McDougle, given land by a former owner, set aside about five acres as a burying ground. Much of the cemetery was lost to later subdivision and commercial development, and only McDougle's own headstone survives among what were once around two dozen graves; a small memorial park with interpretive markers now surrounds the site.
