History
One of the oldest cemeteries in continuous use in Harris County, this ground was part of "The Orange Grove," the estate Col. James Morgan acquired in 1834. The earliest marked grave is that of Morgan's niece Sarah P. Morgan Patrick, who died of smallpox in 1838, and Morgan himself was buried here in 1866. A cemetery association formed in 1922 tended the grounds until the City of Morgan's Point assumed care in 1965; today the historic plot sits surrounded by the industrial complex that grew up around it.
