History

The Old Pierce House, also known as Magnolia Hall, was built in 1866 by Colonel John H. Lee as a wedding gift for his daughter Anna, who married the young Marshall lawyer John T. Pierce in 1867; it was designed by W.R.D. Ward. Mrs. Pierce lived in the house until her death in 1926, after which it passed through several owners. In recent decades it has been adapted for restaurant and event use.
