History

Valdez Ranch Cemetery is one of more than forty family ranch cemeteries scattered across Hidalgo County, most established after the county's organization in 1852. This small burial ground on the Valdez ranch dates to about 1969 and served the local ranching family. Such ranch cemeteries preserve the Tejano ranching heritage of the region's Spanish and Mexican land grants.
