History
Jesse Walling and his brothers John and Thomas came to Texas and took the oath of allegiance at Nacogdoches in January 1836, joining the Texas Revolution. Jesse fought at San Jacinto in Captain Hayden Arnold's company and was issued a donation certificate for 640 acres. He later lived at Millville in Rusk County before moving near Whitney in Hill County, where he died in 1867 and was buried in the old Walling Bend cemetery.
