History

Nathaniel Addison was a soldier of the Texas Army in 1836 and an early settler in the Irene area of Hill County. Born in Louisiana on February 20, 1811, he lived to nearly ninety, dying May 28, 1900. He is buried in the Salem-Irene Cemetery, and the State of Texas placed a marker recognizing his service in the Texas Revolution.
