Driving Directions:From US 287 in Grapeland, go approx. 11.6 miles west on FM 227. Turn right at CR 2255 and go 1.0 mile north. Cemetery is in pasture approx. 425 ft. east of road (on right side), between Abbs and Wes Hicks Cemeteries.This cemetery is highly endangered. It is a map feature, but it is located on private property, and there are no cemetery signs posted. The cemetery is partially enclosed by a barbed wire strand. However, cattle have trampled the cemetery considerably. Only one metal funeral marker was observed during this survey, and it had been damaged by cattle. The dated portion of the marker is missing. At least three wire floral stands and two grave depressions were observed within the barbed wire enclosure. The cemetery is also highly threatened by erosion. The graves are located at the head of a drainage (the drainage actually begins within the cemetery). Erosion, which is significant, has caused one large tree to fall. The cemetery is not maintained or active.
