History

Vealmoor Cemetery serves the small community of Vealmoor on the northwestern edge of Howard County. The community traces to C. C. Slaughter's establishment of a ranch headquarters at nearby German Springs about 1880 and was named for early settler Mrs. Minnie Slaughter Veal; a post office operated there by 1926. The cemetery is one of the last visible reminders of the community.
