History

Concord Cemetery is the burial ground of the Concord Baptist Church, remembered as the oldest institution in Hunt County. The congregation was organized in 1844 by the Rev. Ben Watson beneath a tree near Shady Grove and, after several moves, settled at its present site north of Greenville in 1885. The church and cemetery received an Official Texas Historical Marker in 1997.
