History

Davis Cemetery lies within a 1,280-acre land grant patented to Elizabeth Davis in 1841; Davis had brought her family from Georgia to this part of Jasper County around 1836. The graveyard at Beulah (Bulah) Springs holds more than 370 marked graves, among them citizens of the Republic of Texas and veterans of the Civil War.
