History
The Terrell Carnegie Library was completed in 1904 with a grant from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation secured through the efforts of Terrell's women's clubs, on land once owned by publisher and future governor O.B. Colquitt. Designed by the Waco firm of Messer and Smith, it is a two-story Classical Revival building with paired Ionic columns flanking the entrance. It served as a library into the mid-1980s and now houses the Terrell Heritage Museum; it was listed on the National Register in 2006.
