History
The Kenedy Ranch Museum of South Texas opened in 2003 in the restored Kenedy Pasture Company office in Sarita, telling the story of steamboat captain-turned-rancher Mifflin Kenedy and his family. Kenedy and partner Richard King built vast South Texas landholdings after the Civil War, and for a century the Kenedy name shaped the region's ranching, railroads, land development, and oil. The museum interprets the family's history through traditional Mexican-style murals and an accompanying audio guide.
