History

Gentry Creek Cemetery, about five miles northeast of Junction in Kimble County, is one of the county's earliest burial grounds. It sits near the pioneer home of Raleigh Gentry and bears the name of the creek where the Gentry family settled before the county was formally organized. Among its graves is that of Allen Gentry, killed in an Indian raid in 1867, and the site holds several Civil War veterans and later servicemen.
