History

This cemetery lies in the Johnson Fork valley of the Llano River in eastern Kimble County, one of the county's earliest-settled districts. Several small settlements grew up along Johnson Fork after the Civil War, and the county's very first store was built at Johnson Fork in 1873, giving the surrounding burial grounds their name.
