History

The IOOF (Odd Fellow) Cemetery in Paris was established by Widley Lodge No. 21 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, a fraternal order that kept burial grounds for its members and the surrounding community. Set at the corner of Pine Bluff and Thirty-third streets, the grounds were tended by the lodge and the affiliated Paris Rebekah Lodge, who in the late 1920s carried out major improvements—laying out drives and walks, resetting monuments, and planting the cemetery. It remains one of several fraternal-order cemeteries that served the Lamar County seat.
