History
Shiner Cemetery, established in 1891, serves the predominantly Czech and German farming community of Shiner in Lavaca County. It is part of a cluster of adjoining burial grounds that also includes SPJST, Catholic, and Sons of Hermann cemeteries, and the Shiner City Cemetery alone holds more than 2,500 graves. The Texas Historical Commission awarded it a Historic Texas Cemetery marker in 2002.
