History
The Warren and Myrta Bacon House at 1802 Broadway in Lubbock was built in 1916 from plans by W.M. Rice of Amarillo for businessman and civic leader Warren A. Bacon. A Colonial Revival design notable for its two-story porticoes with Tuscan columns, it remained the Bacon family home until Myrta Bacon's death in 1967. The Episcopal Diocese of Northwest Texas acquired the house in 1981, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
