History

The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco is the state-designated official historical center of the Texas Rangers, authorized in 1964 and opened in 1968 on a site originally named Fort Fisher after an 1837 Ranger camp. The Hall of Fame itself opened in 1976, dedicated by Governor Dolph Briscoe Jr. Its collections hold more than 14,000 artifacts, including historic firearms, badges, and items connected to the pursuit of Bonnie and Clyde.
