History

The Masonic Grand Lodge Library and Museum of Texas in Waco preserves the history of Texas Freemasonry, whose Grand Lodge is the oldest continuously operating organization in the state, becoming its own entity in 1837 at a meeting presided over by Sam Houston. The Grand Lodge moved from Houston to Waco on December 6, 1904. The free museum's exhibits include a Republic of Texas collection, a military and Holocaust collection, and a railroad collection.
