History
The History of West Museum opened in 2015 to preserve the heritage of West, a Central Texas town so shaped by Czech immigration that the state recognizes it as the "Czech Heritage Capital of Texas" and home of the official kolache of the Texas Legislature. The 7,000-square-foot museum traces the early immigrant families who farmed the area, with exhibits of farm tools, a rustic cabin, period clothing, a covered wagon, and an ancestry wall honoring founding community members.
