History
East Terrace House, completed in 1874 on a bluff above the Brazos River, is an Italianate villa built by Tennessee-born entrepreneur John Wesley Mann for his New York-raised wife, Cemira, who favored the Hudson River villa style. Mann's brick company supplied bricks for the Waco Suspension Bridge, and the mansion later gained a ballroom and other additions before serving for a time as a sanitarium. It is now a historic house museum operated by the Historic Waco Foundation.
