History

This burial ground is Bosqueville Cemetery, about four miles northwest of downtown Waco in north-central McLennan County. Burials began as early as 1850 on ten acres donated by Little Berry White for a school and cemetery, and a log schoolhouse built here in 1853-54 also served local Methodist and Baptist congregations. Among those interred are San Jacinto veterans David Smith Kornegay and Alexander McKinza, along with 31 Confederate soldiers; the Texas Historical Commission placed a marker here in 1979.
