History

Stanfield Cemetery in Lacy-Lakeview, just northeast of Waco, was set aside in perpetuity by George Anthony Stanfield in memory of his grandmother, Sarah Ann Vouchere Walker, who came to the area in 1844. She was the widow of Jacob Walker, traditionally remembered as the last defender to die inside the Alamo. The small family cemetery holds burials dating to the late 1800s.
