History
The McMullen County Courthouse in Tilden was built in 1930 to a design by architect William Charles Stephenson Jr., who also designed the Bee County Courthouse and numerous buildings in Beeville. The two-story building blends Classical Revival and Mission influences, with dark brick set off by a limestone water table and window trim and small Doric-columned temple entries. It anchors the courthouse square in Tilden and was renovated in 1998 by Harris Architects of Austin.
