History

Rest Haven Cemetery is the newer municipal cemetery of Menard, established after the town's older Pioneer Rest Cemetery reached capacity. Pioneer Rest dated to about 1863, when Menard County pioneer Adam Bradford buried his father there; Rest Haven was opened later to continue serving the community and remains an active burial ground.
