History
The International Artillery Museum in Saint Jo holds what is billed as the largest private collection of deactivated ordnance and artillery in the United States, with more than 300 pieces displayed in a 22,000-square-foot building. Its collection emphasizes modern artillery spanning the World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, the Cold War, and recent conflicts, and includes a restored German 88mm Flak gun, a Flak 38 cannon, and an experimental 50mm gun from the Messerschmitt Me-262. All pieces are genuine military equipment deactivated per ATF requirements, and the museum operates an on-site store selling deactivated ordnance to collectors and other museums.
