History
The Nat Hart Davis Pioneer Complex and Museum in Montgomery centers on the cottage of attorney Nathaniel Hart Davis, who arrived in the town in 1840 and built the first section of the home in 1851 from logs received as payment for legal fees. The complex comprises three buildings: the Davis cottage, Davis's law office, and Judge Screen A. McCall's law office. Davis family heir Dr. Margaret Cameron donated the cottage to the Montgomery Historical Society in 1984, which restored it and created the museum.
