History

Roaring Springs Cemetery serves the Motley County town of the same name, which was platted in 1912 (informally called 'Ragtown') in anticipation of the Quanah, Acme and Pacific Railway. Rail service and the town's first post office both arrived in 1913, and the cemetery grew with the railroad community; it now holds more than a thousand graves.
