History
The Lazarine Cemetery in southwest Nacogdoches County dates to the early 1800s and was dedicated for burials by 1839 by Francisco Lazarine; the first known interment was his father, Juan Maria Lazarin. Until a new cemetery opened in the Moral community in 1912, it served as the principal burial ground for the area's old Spanish families.
