History

This cemetery lies in the Pleasant Hill community of northern Nacogdoches County, historically also called the Bogg after a nearby pond, roughly twelve miles north of Nacogdoches near the junction of Farm Roads 2664 and 2864. A log church stood in the area by about 1860, and the name Pleasant Hill came into common use after the Civil War. The burial ground is tied to the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist congregation that long anchored this rural farming community.
