History

The Pearce Museum at Navarro College in Corsicana grew from collections placed in the college's care by Charles and Peggy Pearce beginning in 1996, with a mission to preserve the history of the American Civil War and the art of the American West. The Civil War collection holds more than 15,000 documents, including letters, diaries, and photographs from 1861 to 1865, alongside a Western art gallery of paintings and bronzes. It is housed in the Cook Education Center on the Navarro College campus.
