History
The R. A. Ragland Building stands at 113-117 East Third Street in downtown Sweetwater, the seat of Nolan County. It is named for attorney R. A. Ragland (1858-1938), who moved to Sweetwater in 1881 when the Texas and Pacific Railroad reached town and opened the community's first law office. The commercial building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
