History

Heritage Park in Corpus Christi is a cultural center gathering a dozen restored historic homes, the oldest dating to 1851, many recognized as Texas Historical Landmarks. Most of the residences were relocated to the park in the 1970s and 1980s from various city neighborhoods to create a unified setting reflecting the region's diverse Anglo, Mexican American, Czech, Greek, and Jewish communities. Notable structures include the Queen Anne-style Sidbury House, the 1905 Lichtenstein House, and the 1905 Gugenheim House, and the free-admission park hosts meetings and events in several of its buildings.
