History

The Panola County Heritage Museum and Texas Tea Room occupy a restored bank building built in 1903 on the southwest corner of Carthage's downtown square. The Texas Tea Room opened on the ground floor in 1983, operated by the Panola County Heritage Foundation with volunteers serving lunch. The historical museum occupies the upper floor of the building, with exhibits that include antique dolls and an old buggy.
