History

Cross Roads Cemetery lies about twelve miles northeast of Carthage near the former settlement of Crossroads, later associated with Horton. The community was established after the Civil War and had a church and school by the 1890s, but faded after its school consolidated with DeBerry, leaving the cemetery and a still-standing church as its main survivors. Roughly 260 graves are documented here.
