History

Furrh Cemetery is a small, fenced burial ground associated with the old Furrh post-office community in western Panola County, reached by the Midyett-DeBerry Road off Texas Highway 31 west of Carthage. Long tended by local families, its records were compiled from funeral-home and obituary sources, and by the early 2000s few if any new burials were being made. The cemetery survives as a record of the rural Furrh settlement.
