History
Veal's Station developed by 1851 in northeastern Parker County and became a stagecoach stop on the Fort Worth to Fort Richardson line, once regarded as the educational capital of the county. Its cemetery began as a primitive burial ground in 1857 and now covers about 2.7 acres with more than 740 graves, including pioneer families, veterans from the Civil War to Vietnam, and cemetery founder William Woody. Still an active burial ground cared for by the community, it received a Texas Historical Commission marker in 2017.
