History

Friona Cemetery serves the town of Friona in northern Parmer County, a community established in 1898 as 'Frio,' a shipping station on the Pecos Valley and Northern Texas Railway before the name was changed when the post office opened in 1907. The cemetery is maintained by the City of Friona with the assistance of a local cemetery association and contains more than 2,500 recorded burials.
