History
The oldest ranch house in Potter County, this two-room dwelling of mortared dolomite was built in 1904 by rancher David Nichols McBride, who had bought the surrounding land for about $1.50 an acre. His son Amos later used it to make moonshine before selling to the federal Bureau of Reclamation, and it now stands within Lake Meredith National Recreation Area. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
