History
The Texas Pharmacy Museum, opened in 1998, occupies the basement of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy in Amarillo and is one of only two museums in Texas specializing in the history of pharmacy. Its collection of roughly 10,000 items—glassware, containers, remedies, and tools dating to the Civil War era—includes a recreated early 20th-century pharmacy. Affiliated with the pharmacy school, it also serves as a teaching and research resource for students and faculty.
