History

Emory Heritage Park is an outdoor collection of relocated historic buildings maintained by the Rains County Historical Society adjacent to the county library in Emory. Structures preserved on the grounds include the 1912 Luckett House, the 1930 Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, a 1920s gas station moved from the community of Point, and a cotton gin scales building. The park also features a bandstand, a steel jail cell, and a re-created 1887 office of the Rains County Leader newspaper complete with a printing press.
