History

Old Hughes Cemetery is a small, historically overgrown burial ground associated with the family of Absolom and Lucy Jane Hughes in the Roquemore community east of Henderson in Rusk County. When first canvassed around 1965, only one grave remained marked, though additional unmarked burials are present. Documented interments include members of the Hughes and Ferguson families with dates reaching back to the 1870s.
